Group music lessons give students the chance to learn how to play together, listen to each other, and build the kind of communication skills that can only happen when you’re making music with others.

Students already taking private lessons also benefit from periodic group lessons.

Group Sessions are typically a series of 6 weekly group lessons, followed by a LIVE performance for friends and family on stage with professional sound and lighting!

Tuesday Night Jazz with Katie Fritts

In this fun and dynamic ensemble, students will sharpen their sight-reading skills, learn how to jump in confidently on new pieces, and discover how to listen and blend so their playing fits beautifully within the group.

• Tuesdays Oct 7 - 11, 7:15 - 8:15p
  (performance date: Wed, Nov 19 at The Hopmonk in Novato)
• Cost: $294 for 7 sessions (6 weekly lessons + performance night)
• Eligible instruments: Trombone, saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, trumpet, flute, baritone horn, and tuba [backing track will be used for rhythm]
• Requirements: Min. 1 year playing experience, ages 10-14 [5th-8th graders], must bring your own instrument
• Min/Max group size*: 6-15 players

Pop & Rock Academy with Brody Valentino

Experience the thrill of being in a real band! Students will practice in a professional studio, jam with their peers, and feel the excitement of performing together. Singers get to belt out hits from their favorite pop artists, while musicians learn the essentials of collaboration, rehearsal, and rocking the stage as a team.

• Wednesdays Oct 8 - 12, 6:30-7:30p
  (performance date: Wed, Nov 19 at The Hopmonk in Novato)
• Cost: $427 for 7 sessions (6 weekly lessons + performance night)
• Eligible instruments: Bass, drums, guitar, vocals, piano, horns, violin and cello
• Requirements: Min. 1 year playing and/or singing experience, ages 14-18 years old [8th-12th grade], must bring your own instrument
• Min/Max group size*: 4-10 players
• Location: Valentino Studios (17 Joseph Court, San Rafael near The Magic Flute)
