The Gibson ES-137 Classic semi-hollow-body guitar is Gibson's modern take on the Jazz Boxes that ruled the 40's, 50's and 60's. Being built in Gibson's custom shop Memphis factory, this guitar sports a classic archtop design with Les Paul hardware and pickups, allowing you to cover blues, rock, and jazz tones in a slim-bodied semi-hollow design. The ES-137's semi-hollow design features an internal mahogany center block inside the body, which helps to eliminate feedback problems common with hollow-bodied guitars. Another feature of the mahogany center block is facilitating the use of a stop-bar tailpiece, instead of a "trapeze"-style tailpiece found on most hollow-bodied Gibsons.
