Rebecca’s Method & Biography
Rebecca Roudman is currently a cellist in the Santa Rosa Symphony and the Oakland East-Bay Symphony. She graduated from California State University, East Bay with a BA in music performance. She received her single subject music credential from Sonoma State University. In her childhood, she won numerous competitions and scholarships, was Principal cellist of the Marin Youth Orchestra, and was a member of the San Francisco Youth Orchestra. In 1997 Ms. Roudman toured Europe with the
SFYO. She has performed solos with the Marin Youth Orchestra, the Cal State Hayward Orchestra, the Marin Chamber Orchestra, the Classical Philharmonic, and the Ohlone College Orchestra. In 2001, Ms. Roudman went on tour to Brazil with the San Francisco Women’s Philharmonic.
Ms. Roudman enjoys teaching piano and has been working with piano students for 14 years. Piano teaching has been a large part of Ms. Roudman’s life; her mother’s a piano teacher also! She began her piano studies at the age of 7. In addition to teaching many students throughout the bay area, Ms. Roudman performs as an accompanist for a variety of choirs.
Ms. Roudman has taught piano and cello students of all ages from young beginners to experienced adults. She has taught at numerous schools in the bay area including the Novato, Dixie, and San Rafael school districts. Ms. Roudman has also taught college-level cello and bass at California State University, East Bay.
Ms. Roudman’s approach to lessons combines fun and excitement with learning the fundamentals of music in a relaxed and well-paced environment. She loves teaching students and making learning music fun!
