Lessons with Paul are available Monday through Friday at The Magic Flute. Lessons are either half hour or hour in duration. Weekly lessons, bi- weekly and drop in lessons are all available. All levels are welcome from beginner to advanced. Lessons are taught on both steel string acoustic guitars, classical nylon string and electric guitars.
Styles range from Rock, Blues, Metal, Pop, R and B, Funk, Folk, Jazz, and Classical. Studies include sight reading, rhythm playing, soloing and improvising, chord voicings, scale studies, music theory, modes and music fundamentals. Learn your favorite songs and guitar solos, cool slide riffs, alternate tunings, blues licks, finger picking ,composing and songwriting.

Guitarist Paul Geller has been active on the Bay Area Music Scene since 1985. He started out playing in bars and clubs in his High School years and has remained involved in various musical projects ever since. He has opened for many artists such as Guitar Legend Carlos Santana and Multi Grammy Winner Bobby Kimball of Toto and performed for Oscar Winning Director Alejandro G. Inarritu Performing with singer songwriters – cover bands and original musical projects has kept him busy working with many talented musicians and singers both live and in the recording studio.
Paul has been teaching guitar lessons for over 25 years. While studying music in college he continued his weekly lessons with some of the top guitar players and teachers in the Bay Area – Jazz Guitarist Neal Harris and Classical Guitarist Nick Shyrock. He currently teaches private guitar lessons 5 days a week, holding down a full schedule of students from 7 years old and up. Paul teaches complete beginners to advanced players all styles of music on both acoustic and electric guitars. Paul taught guitar classes in San Anselmo and Fairfax for grades 3rd through 8th for over 13 years in the Ross Valley School District Music Program. Here he taught beginning to intermediate lessons to groups of 6 to 12 students at a time. This was a little like Paul’s own version of “School of Rock.”
Paul also is a pilot editor for the FJH Music Publishing Company of Fort Lauderdale Florida assisting in reviewing and editing beginning guitar lesson books. FJH publishes a large variety of music lesson books for both guitar and piano. He has worked on the Young Beginner Series Volume 1 which contains the Lesson Book, Performance Book, Exploring Chords and Theory Activity Book. He has also worked on the new Everybody’s Favorite Guitar Method Book 1. Paul likes to use these books as teaching supplements to help students develop their music reading skills and basic musicianship which is very important.
In addition, he writes and produces music for film – multimedia – television. He composes guitar parts on corporate videos – independent films – video games – commercials. Some of his clients include Autodesk Software – Fox Sports Network – The Northface –City of San Francisco. He keeps busy writing songs and playing on a variety of CDs and demos for many artists ranging from singer- songwriters Susan Z and Sarah Eden Davis to San Francisco Punk Rockers, The Nuns. He enjoys producing demos and CDs for local bands and artists. Paul feels that there is a lot of great talent in the Bay Area and really enjoys producing these artists as they develop their own style and sound.
Paul performs shows from solo guitar playing cafes, private events and weddings to full band playing corporate events, concerts and festivals. Performing for Starbucks Coffee – American Cancer Society – Mill Valley Film Festival – Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Paul is currently studying guitar with Ted Greene alumni Los Angeles guitarist – composer Mark Goldenberg (Jackson Browne – Bonnie Raitt – Willie Nelson- Linda Ronstadt – Chicago) Mark is a wealth of information and knowledge. There is so much to learn and I am having a great time. This has been a fantastic opportunity to work with one of LA’s top – shelf sideman and session guitarists.
